When I try to export a Style from a document into normal. When I click Yes, the Style is not overwritten. An inspection of the Description boxes shows different attributes for the export Style as opposed to the supposedly overwritten Style in normal. And this continues to occur even after Word is closed.

Adding a new style or overwriting an existing style in a template certainly affects new documents that you subsequently create from that template. And that is why I asked you to describe which specific formatting doesn't get transferred to the template.

A VBA-controlled batch process could open all the files in a folder and copy a style to each of them. Every method I know of to copy a style uses the Organizer and when I use the Organizer, it does not perform as it is supposed to, especially when it comes to overwriting a style's attruibutes. I haven't been able to reproduce the problem you described initially.

So I ask again: If you copy a style to the Normal template, which specific properties are not transferred to the template? Please give examples.
